The new moon is a time for rebirth and fresh starts, setting intentions and planting seeds. The new moon this month is in the sign of Scorpio, lover of all things deep, dark and mysterious. Scorpio is a water sign that brings up themes around shadow work, our dark side, and things that go bump in the night.  ♏️🦂🖤👻👿👹🧙🏽💀

We will also be celebrating Halloween, which shares many similar themes with the sign of Scorpio.

These energies invite us to take a deeeeep dive into the dark and mysterious waters. Scorpio is not shy or subtle. It brings us face to face with our deepest fears, our most wild and primal longings, and the parts of ourselves that scare the sh*t out of us.

Nothing is off limits here. Sex, death, the occult, blood, guts, horror, deep emotional wounds, ancestral trauma. This is a journey into the wild dark. And Scorpio does not fear that darkness.

The key is to go into it consciously and in a way that invites healing, deeper understanding, and integration. This is not a glorification of evil or a fixation on pain and trauma , but an acknowledgement of the multi-faceted aspects of the human experience and a desire for deeper wisdom. It is an invitation to transcend the fear of darkness, to let go of the fear of fear itself so that we can hold the full spectrum of the human experience from a place of power.

The fact is, we all have a dark side, but it is only when we ignore and suppress it that it becomes dangerous to ourselves and others. The integrated shadow, the ability to shine light into our darkness and see it for what it is, provides us with incredible strength and depth of character.

We are challenged to go deep into the underworld to complete the full cycle of death and rebirth. Only by facing and transcending death can we come into a full circle experience of all aspects of life. 

Needless to say, this energy is not for the faint of heart. But it is so so powerful and so worth the journey.

We are invited to set intentions around fully facing and embracing our darkness, transcending and integrating our shadows (particularly deep wounds and traumas that we have held for far too long), and rising like a phoenix from the ashes of our own personal underworld.

We also invite you to embody some aspect of your shadow by dressing as your favorite shadow character. The ritual of using costumes and theater to create catharsis has been around for thousands of years and is a powerful way to call home unintegrated parts of ourselves.

Your shadow character could be something beautiful that you are ready to bring out of the darkness and into the light. It could be a part of your personality that you want to embrace or something that you fear that you'd like to integrate and see more clearly. Feel free to get creative and use this as a part of your personal ritual.
